Geary Family YMCA $25,000 for the operation of Foundation Park & $949.18 for capital improvements
Community Improvement Corporation $15,000 grant for to seed Downtown Facade Enhancement Program
St. Wendelin High School a $11,281.90 general support grant
Franciscan Earth Literacy Center a $5,294.38 grant to offer summer camp/continuous learning for Seneca County Opportunity Center students
Glass Heritage Inc. a $1,500 grant toward replacement windows at gallery
Caring Hands Pregnancy Center $600 for banner & marketing materials.
These grant awards bring the total distribution of grant awards by the GFCF to over $1,604,846 since the Foundations inception in 1998. For more information, see

Thank you to all the table sponsors,donors and attendees of the 14th Annual Greater Fostoria Community Foundation Mardi Gras Extravaganza! The event was held Friday, February 13th at the Meadowbrook Ballroom in Bascom. Net proceeds support the operating mission of the Foundation.
The Greater Fostoria Community Foundation awarded grants totaling $10,000 to three organizations who submitted applications during the Fall 2014 request cycle. Fostoria Habitat for Humanity received $4,000 from the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation Fund to be used toward their next rehabilitation project in the community; Kaubisch Memorial Library will use the $3,000 grant they received from the Leroy T. Kelbley Fund to purchase Playaway Views for the children's department at the library; and the Fostoria Jr./Sr. High School Red & Black Champs Program received $3,000 from the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation Fund for a year-end reward activity. Thank you to all the donors, patrons, and attendees of the 3rd Foundation Park Hog Roast & Benefit Auction! The event was held Thursday, October 2nd at the Roppe Hangar. All net proceeds of this event will support maintenance, operation and renovation efforts of Foundation Park.
Mennel Milling Co. Sets Up New Donor Advised Fund
The Greater Fostoria Community Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of The Mennel Milling Company Charitable Foundation, a new donor advised fund of the GFCF. Donor advised funds are a means of encouraging endowment support, stimulating interchange of ideas between donors and the Foundation, and providing funds to extend the charitable purposes of the Foundation. "As a company that has stood the test of time for well over 125 years through five generations of family leaderships, The Mennel Milling Company's vision for establishing this fund will support philanthropic efforts in perpetuity," said Michele Cochran, executive director of the GFCF.
GFCF Total Awards Reach Over $1.5 Million
The Greater Fostoria Community Foundation has now given over $1.5 million back to the community in the form of grant awards to area non-profit organizations. The most recent award of nearly $72,000 was given to the Geary Family YMCA for projects at Foundation Park this year. This award will go toward additional improvements on fields 2 & 3, including fencing, new dugouts and concrete under the bleachers, along with more portable restrooms at Foundation Park.
